"I truly believe I owe it all to Siobhan and traditional Chinese medicine."

After 10 months of trying to conceive my second baby I met with my consultant in Wexford general hospital who through a laparoscopy confirmed that I had mild-moderate endometriosis and removed a chocolate cyst from my left ovary, 21 day blood test also showed that my progesterone level was low at 14–, he gave me a 6 month prescription for 100mg of clomid and advised that I get a blood test after 3 months, results of which showed a progesterone level of 140–.  The consultant’s advice was that this was a great result and to continue with the clomid I was experiencing many unpleasant side effects and asked if I should reduce it to 50mg, to which he agreed.

During my 4th month of clomid I met with Siobhan for the first time in January 2012, after taking my history and looking at my tongue she was able to make a diagnosis and advised me that a progesterone level of 140 – was very high. I researched progesterone levels and found that 140 was a very high level and decided to avoiding clomid for the time being.

Siobhan advised that I meet with nutritional therapist Davina Dowling, who gave me advice on how to improve my diet. I completely changed my diet cutting out all dairy, wheat and sugar and started taking traditional Chinese herbs twice a day and continued to meet Siobhan every 2-3 weeks between January and March 2012. On the 4th of April 2012 I found out that I was 4 weeks pregnant, after 15 months of trying to conceive and only 3 months of meeting Siobhan. At 5 weeks I experienced some spotting, Siobhan gave me some specific Chinese herbs and capsules to help prevent a miscarriage. At 7 weeks I had an early abdominal scan and was overjoyed to see my beautiful little one with a strong heart beat. I continued to meet Siobhan intermittently throughout my pregnancy.

Update:

In December 2012 I gave birth to a healthy 9lb baby girl.

I truly believe I owe it all to Siobhan and traditional Chinese medicine. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is finding it difficult to conceive, I could not praise her highly enough, she is a very helpful, caring and honest and always makes time to offer advice and assistance.
